We are not operator of any Hakone Garden activities. At times, we (staff/instructors) are offered to have joint programs with Hakone, but we have pre-existing standard agreements and terms with these joint agreements. We are a vendor that has a contract to use Hakone Garden, and as a vendor we provide support for guests and participants. We are humbly grateful to Hakone Garden, and their open cooperation with Ven. Eimei Kawakami. Ven Kawakami had a strong passion and devotion toward the Hakone Garden.
There is no official Hakone statement from us/our activities. Though we use pictures of the Hakone Garden and use its facilities, both Hakone Garden and Mikkyo staff and instructors agree that each is beholden to his or her individual responsibilities and liabilities involved, and which are strictly maintained. We may cancel or change schedules and classes due to event schedule of Hakone Garden…without exception.
Our activities are based on Shingon Mikkyo Philosophy (known as Shingon Buddhism in Japan), and such activities are generally led by qualified teacher(s) and/or ordained monk(s). However, we strictly follow codes and compliance of Hakone Garden and such codes and compliance entails the refrain from the exercise of any religious activities.
Our focus, again, is to provide Kokoro Education through Zen and to provide cultural studies and/or related programs, which are well recognized as tradition or culture in Japan.
