Description: Master of Arts in Mikkyo Studies The aim of the program leading to the Master of Arts in Mikkyo Studies will provide foundational knowledge of Mikkyo Buddhist worldview, scriptures, ethics, and spiritual practices. In addition, the candidate will study essential disciplines pertaining to human behavior, social organization, and philosophical perspectives in relation to Mikkyo Buddhist thought and practice. Description: Doctor of Philosophy in Mikkyo Studies The Doctorate program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel as Mikkyo Buddhist practitioners working as professional Mikkyo Priest. The program is designed to meet the needs of those who wish to engage in spiritual care and counseling work and to become properly trained and certified professionals.
There are level of position resides in Mikkyo Tradition. We use "Degree" as a term for position or level. "Apprentice" , "Associate", "Bachelor", "Master", and "Doctor" is the name of the credential which enable candidates to execute specific ritual and operation. Apprentice Degree is the first level of learning which is given for apprentice. Associate Degree is the second level of learning which is given for Disciple. Bachelor Degree is the third level of learning which is given for Assisting Teacher. Master Degree is the fourth level of learning which is given to Teacher. In Eimei University, we only grant Master and Doctor because lower credentials has been practiced or used at temple. We commonly use those title as traditional manner not , with respect, in associating with western academic scale. Thus, with another respect to our tradition, we have used those names for our courses.
